Covering acne

A lot of you have probably already seen this video, but I thought I'd show you it anyway. This is a tutorial on how to cover acne. I've watched a lot of videos, but I find this to be the absolute best. So, watch and learn!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everybody! I've spent most of today outside, since it's been such nice weather. Right now I'm sitting in my bedroom listening to old No Doubt songs. I haven't listened to some of them for years, but I still know most of the lyrics. The songs in this playlist are some of my old favorites, so I thought I'd share them (: xx

Lanvin "Me"

A few days ago, I found this new perfume from Lanvin on Kicks webside. I instantly fell in love with the bottle. It's so pretty. For me, the bottle makes half the perfume, haha. I like a few other of their perfumes, especially "Jeanne Couture". I've never had one, though.
The top notes are mandarins and blueberries. The heart notes are tuberose and rose absolue. The base notes are liquorice and sandalwood. This sounds just like a perfume I would like. Maybe I'll check it out next week, or something. I won't buy it though, since I've forbidden myself to buy perfumes. I simply have too many!

GETTING READY WITH ME: Evening Shoulder Skincare Routine

// Eucerin pH5 Shower Oil, Apoteket // Eucerin pH5 Lotion, Apoteket // Basiron AC 5 % Gel, Apoteket //

Like I wrote in my "Acne Story" post, I started to get pimples on my back and shoulders when I was about 11 or 12 years old. My shoulders were actually worse than my face, at one point, but recently it's gotten better. I think this routine is a big part of it. Both the shower oil (I know the bottle says wash lotion, but it's been refilled) and the lotion has got low pH levels, which means bacteria won't get on as well as it would if the pH level was a bit higher. And Basiron is a gel that contains benzoyl peroxide, which is a very well known for fighting acne. It's probably not got to use in the long run, since it's very harsh. But as of now, I will continue to use it.

Clinique Chubby Stick

Photobooth, ftw! And, no, I couldn't help but take a few not-so-serious pictures as well, haha. Yesterday I bought the Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm (why do they always give products such long names?) in the colour "06 Whoppin' Watermelon". It's a sheer, pretty pink. Tell me if you want any real swatches, or a real review. (: xx

Btw, this colour has actually been used on the character Hanna Marin, in Pretty Little Liars.

Paranormal Activity 4

I watched Paranormal Activity 4 last Saturday with my friends. I think I've never screamed that much to a movie! And when I thought we were about halfway through the movie (I had no idea about what time it was), I ran away for a moment to see if the front door was locked. Then my friends started to scream like crazy, so I ran back into the livingroom. It turned out it was like the last 10 minutes of the movie, and I had just missed one of the scariest parts. I was so bummed, because I was only away for like 30 seconds. Anyway, it was a great movie and I really recommend you to watch it.

Help!

Does anyone know how to upload your photos in the same width on Blogspot? Because I find it really annoying that they have different sizes. Thanks in advance! xx Petra

Cleaning my wardrobe

On Friday afternoon I finally got sick of my wardrobe being so messy (or at least one part of it... the other parts were actually pretty good), so I decided to spring clean it a little. This is what it looked like when I started:

Close-up on the mess... These are clothes that I've worn like once, and that are not ready for the laundry machine yet.

The clothes on the hangers ended up on my bed.

Part of the shoe hoard (there's more in another wardrobe).

Now there's a little bit more clothes everywhere.

The cleaning playlist.

And this is what it looked like after:

It feels so much better to actually know what's in there. My tips is to organizing your wardrobe is to have some kind of system. On the part of my wardrobe with hangers I try to sort by colour. My wardrobe isn't that big, and like half of my clothes are black, so it doesn't show that well, but I do, haha. On the other half I sort by which kind of clothes it is. Like, I have gym clothes on the upper right, then I have jeans, shorts, etc, on the lower right. That makes it easy to find what I'm looking for. So don't put in your clothes too random, because it takes so much more time to find what you want to wear. xx (:

GETTING READY WITH ME: Morning Skincare Routine

Like I said in my acne post, I'm going to show you my skincare routine. My morning routine and my evening routine differs a lot at the moment, and I'm going to start with showing you my morning routine.

I'm sorry for the green-ish picture. I'm not really used to iPhoto yet.

// Estelle & Thild Ecorganic Cleansing Milk Fragrance Free, Kicks // Apple Cider Vinegar + Water // Estelle & Thild Ecorganic Eye Balm Fragrance Free, Kicks // Mario Badescu Rose Hips Nourishing Oil, Eleven.se // Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruid Oil-Free Moisturiser, ICA //

I start with washing my face and neck with the cleansing milk. I remove it with a wet makeup towel from Åhléns. Then I spray the ACV water on a cotton pad, and use it as a toner. After that I make sure to rinse the ACV water off of my hands, and then I apply the eye balm around my eyes. Since I use Benzoyl Peroxide in my evening routine (post coming soon!), I usually get dry where I use it, which is on my cheeks and on my neck. Because of that, I use the oil on those areas before I apply the moisturizer all over the face and neck. Tadaa! Done.

Helen Green

Ever heard about Helen Green? She was the first Little Monster to become a part of the Haus of Gaga. She is an artist who makes drawings of Gaga, among other celebrities. Here are some of my favorite drawings by her.

I really love her drawings, and I'm thinking about ordering something. The ideal thing would be to have maybe three of them hanging in my room, or something like that. Here is her Tumblr, where she posts her drawings. You can order them at Society6.

10 Things Guys Hate That Girls Do

I was being kind of emotional last night. But then I stumbled across this video, and believe me, no matter how sad you feel about something, this will cheer you up. Everything he says in this video is so true. It isn't positive (since the video is called "10 Things Guys Hate That Girls Do"), but it's still true. And funny. So if you're in a bad mood, watch this. If you're not in a bad mood, watch this anyway. Because it's hilarious. And guys, do you agree on what he says?

My Acne Story

As my first real post I would like to tell you my acne story. Right now my skin is at its worst, but I'd still like to tell you about the things that I've tried, and how they've worked for me. Even though I can't tell you the secret to getting clear, amazing skin, I still know that I personally like to read about what other have gone through with their skin. I'm not going to take everything in this post, but this is the background story of it. Be prepared for a long post!

So everything started when I was 8 years old, and I started to get blackheads on my nose. That basically means I have had more or less bad skin during the half of my life. My parents and I went to the drugstore, and they recommended me a cleanser and a moisturizer from ACO. The cleanser left my skin dry and flaky, while the moisturizer left it greasy. I stopped using those products, and went back to just cleansing it with water.

This picture was taken in June 2009, right before I graduated from fifth grade. It's slightly retouched, though, so a few pimples are gone haha.

A few years later, when I was about 11, not much had changed. I got a lot of blackheads on, and around, my nose and I also got a few small pimples. The only big difference was that I had started getting pimples on my shoulders and back, as well. At the time I thought my skin looked horrible, but now, when I look back on old pictures and compare to how it is now, I realize that I'd do anything to go back to that skin. I was using a cleanser from Garniér, which I really liked, and I combined it with different moisturizers. A year later I also discovered toners, which I liked because they made my pores look smaller.

Ever since I discovered that cleanser from Garniér, I've tried basically everything that the drugstore or the supermarket has got to offer. Even though I found a few that worked decently, no one ever worked any wonders. When I was 13 or 14 I discovered Cassandra Bankson's channel on YouTube, and her videos about her acne has been really helpful, and has educated me about many different treatments.

Last year, in September, Lady Gaga launched her "Body Revolution" movement, and I decided to post some pictures of my acne on LittleMonsters.com. I never expected anything. I just wanted to share it with my fellow Monsters. But the response that I got was overwhelming. A few days later I had gotten over 300 likes, and a lot of comments with nice words, advices and compliments. Even though it obviously didn't cure my acne, it felt really good to hear those wonderful words.

This is one of the pictures that I posted on LittleMonsters.com.

Since February this year, I've started to take photos of my skin regularly, to make it easier to see if my skin makes any major progress. Unfortunately, it hasn't. Lately I've thought that my skin has looked a lot clearer, and that I haven't gotten as many pimples as I use to. But since I've taken these photos, I've seen that so is not the fact. Maybe I've gotten fewer pimples, but the marks after the old ones looks worse than ever.

These not very flattering pictures were taken today, March 17th, so this is what it looks like right now.

At times I've considered taking medications, but I feel like the side effects are not worth it. I don't want to ruin my liver, or get thin hair as well. I'm going to make a post this week about what I do right now, so stay posted! (: xx

Hi!
I was going to make my first "real post" today, but I wasn't at home anything at all today, so that post is coming tomorrow instead. Just wanted to tell you (: xx

Welcome

My name is Petra.
I’m born and raised in a small town in Sweden.
I’m turning 16 on June 1st.
I’m incredibly bored, and in need of a hobby.
This is my fifth blog, I think.
I listen to music almost all the time.
I have several favorite bands and artists, but one of my all-time-favorites is No Doubt.
I love tv-series, and I probably follow about 20 shows at the moment.
I’ve never left Europe.
I’ve got an incredible family, and amazing, funny friends.
Either I think way too much, or I don’t think at all.
Because of the fact that I think too much at times, I can easily obsess over the smallest of things.
It’s very easy to make me laugh.
If you can make me laugh, I’ll probably like you.
I could never fall in love with someone I don’t know.
I can’t wait till I graduate and get to move away from here, and hopefully get to do the things that I want to do.
And today I’m starting my new blog, ”Velvet and Lipgloss”, here at Blogspot.
Don't hate, congratulate.
